Make your own face mask

Food is life! Yes, food makes us happy and what’s more it can also do wonders for our skin. Did you know that you can use food to make your own face masks?  Checking your kitchen for leftovers can be your first step to getting super soft skin!

Banana-avocado mask
All you need for this mask are a ripe avocado and a banana. The banana will clean your skin, while the avocado is rich in fatty acids that will help nourish your skin, leaving your skin feeling soft and supple. The perfect mask-combi!

Get started
Mash the avocado and banana together. Apply the mixture to your face using your fingers and leave it on for a maximum of 20 minutes. Use that time to relax, for example by having a cup of tea while listening to your favourite music. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

The chocolate mask
Cacao is not just great for our chocolate fix (guilty as charged ), it’s also wonderful for our face. It’s great for keeping your skin hydrated, it helps smooth and sooth the skin and is even said to tighten pores. It also protects against free radical damage and helps remove impurities. So, what are you waiting for?

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbs. honey
  • 2 tbs. yoghurt
  • 1 tbs. cacao powder (raw and unsweetened)
  • Brush

Making your own mask:
Mix the honey, yoghurt and cacao powder until you form a paste. Tie back your hair and apply the mask using a brush (or just use your fingers). Leave the mask on for 10 minutes (and why not indulge in some of your favourite chocolate while you wait haha :-D). Then rinse off with lukewarm water.
